I couldn't be happier for Texas A&M University Corpus Christi on the newly earned status of an R2 Doctoral Research Program, a classification awarded to them by Carnegie Commission of Higher Education. This is a high achievement reserved for 131 universities that have outstanding and notable dedication in research. This is the first time TAMUCC has received this honor and based upon the paths that Dr. Ahmed Mahdy, VP for Research, Commercialization and Outreach at A&M-Corpus Christi and Dr. Kelly Quintanilla, President and CEO of A&M-Corpus Christi have set forth I imagine this will become the standard for TAMUCC from now on. I have seen first hand through our collaboration with TAMUCC, on Innovative Aging, the dedication they carry to not just research and development but to creating access for gifted minds to explore new depths of discovery. You can read further about their inspiring achievement here.
